Survive And Advance: We’re Going To The (College Cup) ‘Ship

Dec 13, 2013, 10:11 PM EDT

The Notre Dame men’s soccer team began day two of the program’s first College Cup experience with a light stretch in the morning to get ready for their 5 p.m. match with New Mexico for the right to play in the NCAA College Cup final.

But enough about stretching, let’s begin where the day ended. On the back of a pair of Patrick Hodan goals, the Irish defeated New Mexico, 2-0, to reach the College Cup final vs. Maryland on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. in Philadelphia. Maryland defeated Virginia 2-1 in the nightcap of the national semifinal. The NCAA Championship will pit two ACC squads and can be seen on ESPNU and WatchESPN.com.

Nonetheless, here are today’s happenings in text, video and picture form in chronological order.
